Environmental and safety-friendly orange silica gel. Granules have a size of 2-5 mm. No use is made of cobalt for the discoloration. Discoloration from orange to white/transparent. Discoloration is reversible by drying the silica gel at 120°C.
The moisture absorption is about 38%.
Required: approx. 150 grams per m3 at room temperature.
Application:
for moisture absorption in your diesel tank
Reuse of silica gel
Silica gel absorbs water. The water can be removed in an oven or microwave.
The oven should be heated between 120 and 150 degrees Celsius. Place the silica gel on a baking sheet or aluminum foil. The duration differs per weight, but can be calculated with approximately 1 hour per 500 grams. Once the discoloration has taken place, the process is complete.
When using a microwave, it should be set to medium (about 700 watts). Check every 5 minutes whether the silica gel has discolored. The silica gel can be stirred with a spoon so that the moist gel is released again.
The silica gel should not get warmer than 150 degrees because otherwise it will degenerate into powder.
