Find out if there could be a problem
Test for the presence of water in your diesel fuel tank. There is a good chance that water is present.
Drain the water from the diesel tank
Initially remove water from the diesel tank by draining the water, if this is not possible, use the TANK SOCK or buy the DIESEL DIPPER for a PERMANENT solution
Dose Marine 16 products in your diesel tank
There are water absorbing additives on the market, but that is the worst thing you can do for modern diesel engines.
This method used to give good results on diesel oil of which the sulfur % had not yet been reduced and FAME was added to it.
What is FAME?
FAME is a biofuel that can be mixed with fuel oil or diesel (B7) to form a renewable fuel.
A mixture of fuel oil with FAME can already be used in heating boilers.
What is a demulsifier?
A demulsifier is a substance that promotes the breaking of an emulsion.
On drilling fields, a demulsifier is added to petroleum to split off the salt water that occurs as a water-in-oil emulsion.
The separated water is removed.
Prevention is the key to avoiding problems
- Always make sure that no water can enter the tank.
- Also install the SILICALGEL dryer on the air inlet of your tank.
- Install the DIESEL DIPPER to permanently separate water from the diesel (works best while sailing)
Marine 16 biocide products are in evaluation for addmitance in Belgium.
